Bring the Theater to Your Fort Worth Home

Enjoy a Cinematic Experience With a Home Theater Installation

Like many of us in Fort Worth and across the country, you’ve likely spent a lot of time at home this year — which means you and your family have probably enjoyed many hours together watching movies and other content. If you’re wondering how to elevate your movie nights, you can bring the movies to you by building a home theater. You may not realize it, but you can enjoy many cinematic features at home that commercial theaters offer.

Here’s your home theater installation checklist for your Texas home.

Immersive Display

One of the best parts about going to the movies is having a large screen bring a film to life. You can also achieve lifelike images in your home theater by installing a large format display with a 4K UHD HDR projector. 4K Ultra HD provides a resolution of more than 8 million pixels — giving viewers excellent clarity and color with images. High dynamic range, or HDR, recreates images to make you feel like you’re viewing them in real life; the result is image quality that’s brighter, more colorful, and more realistic.

Projection video also what lets you go beyond the size limitation of flat panel TVs. With the right projector and screen combo, you can fill an entire wall with ultra hi-definition video. There aren’t TVs you can buy that can fit an entire wall — plus you don’t want to miss out on the theater experience of watching something on a giant screen.

Surround Sound

Another main element of commercial theaters is surround sound, which helps movies sound rich and realistic. Surround sound envelops listeners by having speakers in front of, to the side of, and behind viewers. This way, there’s the feeling of sound coming from any horizontal direction.

One of the companies best known for creating cinematic surround sound is Dolby Laboratories, and it offers premium surround sound for home theaters. Dolby Atmos technology was initially used exclusively in theaters, but now viewers can have it in their homes. To install a Dolby Atmos system, you can have a conventional 5.1, 7.1, or 9.1 surround sound speaker setup. Or, you can have the newest version of surround sound, which has 11 speakers in one space. When choosing speakers, you can opt for Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers, which will direct sound upward and reflect off your ceiling — giving you lifelike sound overhead.
